DO IT YOURSELF: EATING GOOD, HAVING FUN
If you follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed my growing interest in beautiful looking, healthy food.
Just like so many of you, I also struggle to keep myself within the lines of healthy eating habits. Trust me, it isn’t any easier for me than it is for you. I’m a foodie so I like to eat. I found that getting visual doses of “clean foodporn”- helps me maintain control of my cravings.
This is a wonderful tip for almost every situation in life: Trick your brain. In this case showing myself several attractive images of good food replaces the craving for those fatty, sweet, creamy, junkie foods with healthy alternatives. It also is a reminder that eating fit food can be just as delicious and even more so.
So, a couple of months ago I begun following very closely some gifted people’s food pages! It has been an exciting and eye openning journey for me. This is how I found and fell in love with @talinegabriel & @elsas_wholesomelife. These two women make healthy food look really yummy and encourage me to have fun in the kitchen. What a great way to spend part of your day!
As I mentioned in my previous post, “PURSUE HEALTH, BODY CHANGES COME AS A RESULT” the only way to keep healthy eating habits is by adopting them as a lifestyle. This made me come to the realization that looking at healthy food is a inspirational towards forming good habits, however creating my own healthy wonderful looking food, as part of my everyday routine, is the real deal sealer; I’m eating good, I’m being creative and I’m having fun!
The time of being limited to simply admiring those yummy plates, wishing I made them myself is over. I thought “I can do this, I can make healthy, delicious food.” So I went to a kitchen store, got some fun utensils and now I’m ready to feed my family lovely, tasty, nutritious meals. No doubt, I’ll continue to get my daily foodporn doses from the best of the best but I’m now inspired to be proactive, and perhaps post a few of my own concoctions.
If you are thinking you want to do this as well, I encourage you to go get some cooking tools, a few healthy groceries and get in the kitchen. I promise you, you will find your food taste even better!
